The Misanthrope
Our spring show this year will be The Misanthrope by Roger McGough (after Molière)! The classic comedy of manners will be onstage at St Ninian’s from 8th to 13th April.
Moving the action of the story to end of the 19th century Paris, when Café Society was very much in vogue, poet Alceste has decided to turn his back on French society but continues to pursue the lovely Célimène. Along the way, barriers are placed in his way to try to ensure that his tale does not have a happy ending.
